Mechanistic and synthetic organometallic chemistry with an emphasis on: small-molecule activation by metal complexes; carbon-sulfur bond-activation; metal-mediated bond-activation and functionalization; metal-catalysis; metallacyle chemistry; metal-vinylidene chemistry; metal-arene chemistry; metal-alkyne chemistry; biradical chemistry; synthetic methodology.
